Hello world!

My name is Iryna. I come from a wonderful country in the center of Europe - Belarus! I fell in love with the foreign languages when I was a child so it's not surprising that I chose Minsk State Linguistic University as my "alma mater". I enjoy travelling and experiencing new cultures.

Speaking about my teaching career I can say that I have been engaged into English language teaching for more than five years already and it is not only the way to earn my living but also my hobby and my passion!

This blog is a place for students to learn something new, for teachers to share some amazing ideas and for parents to find answers to the questions they might have. Feel free to browse this blog and comment on the posts.

What is it like to be a teacher? I personally believe that any teacher is a bridge between his or her students and the world that could be opened with the help of a foreign language. That is why the process of teaching is both rewarding and challenging. My main goal in teaching English is to help my students to be successful and to use English as a tool for achieving their aims in their future. I try to prepare them for communication outside the classroom. This communication requires certain skills which I try to develop or sometimes even form. I want my teaching to be effective that is why I do the following: incorporate modern technologies  into the learning environment, stress the learning outcomes and the achievements of the students, stimulate and motivate students to overcome obstacles during the process of learning. Keep calm and read a book

"All great leaders are readers". Do you agree with it? I am completely sure that it is true. Reading gives us food for thought, broadens our horizons and open the world that is between the pages of the book. What are other reasons that prove reading is important? Reading helps us to relax and norishes our bodies and souls.  Stress is a major concern for a lot of people. Even if we have a stressful day, a book can easily distract us from our own problems. Reading has ability to calm us down, and dispense peace.  Reading helps to reach out to the world. Reading takes us to the places we have never been to. It is a way to get acquainted with people, cultures, customs and traditions. It is a way to experience life. Reading develops creativity. Reading books helps us to imagine something we have never thought of before. When we read a novel, or a fairy-tale or whatever we start creating the scenery of it just in front of our eyes.
